Kim Barry, LCSW-C, LICSW

Licensed in Maryland and D.C, with over 20 years of experience in the Counseling and Social Work field, she is adept in issues of domestic violence, and substance abuse in addition to co-occurring disorders. Her experience also includes providing individual, couples, group, and family therapy for issues such as depression, anxiety, anger, grief, and self-esteem issues.

Kim M. Barry holds a Master’s in Social Work from Howard University School of Social Work.  She also has experience in Child Welfare and Clinical Supervision. Kim Barry has participated in panel discussions on domestic violence at Howard University School of Social Work along with Men of Faith Preventing Violence Against Women. She was interviewed on WHUR 96.3 FM Quiet Storm to speak on why women stay in abusive relationships and what can be done to empower them to break the cycle and thrive after the abuse. Kim is the founder of the Yasha Circle (YC) Ministry formerly the TPCBC Domestic Violence Ministry and chaired it from 2005 to 2014. In addition, she has presented at national conferences on Substance Abuse Treatment, Domestic Violence, and Women’s Issues in the Criminal Justice System.

Christine Barry, LGPC, NCC

Christine has 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. She got started interning with a domestic violence and sexual assault women’s shelter in Western Maryland where she assisted with educational workshops, provided legal advocacy, and counseling to women and children in the shelter, as well as provided general services in rural communities. She’s facilitated teen and women’s groups and an art therapy group for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. She provided home and school-based therapy to children and adolescents. She has experience providing therapeutic and case management services and crisis stabilization to adults with severe psychiatric illnesses and children and adults with developmental disabilities. She has her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Frostburg State University and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bowie State University.
